From Dream Garage to Ultimate Home Gym

The Vision

When homeowner Mike Mirarchi set out to add more functional space to his property, he wanted a building that could work as hard as he does. The result was a 24′ x 36′ two-story, three-car garage—a structure designed for versatility, with both beauty and purpose in mind.

The Build

Lapp Structures built the garage with white Hardie Plank board and batten siding, a bronze metal roof with snow guards, and classic Cape Cod dormers that bring in natural light. A decorative cupola crowns the roofline, giving it timeless character and curb appeal.

Inside, Mike had a specific layout in mind. The second floor spans only half the garage, leaving the other half with an impressive high ceiling—perfect for stacking two cars using a parking lift. This flexible design provided the ideal foundation for whatever he wanted to create in the future.

The Transformation

About five years later, we had the chance to revisit Mike’s property—and we were blown away by what he had done with the space. The upstairs loft had become a fully equipped home gym.

As an electrician, Mike handled all the wiring himself, installing recessed speakers in the ceiling and two TVs for Peloton workouts. The gym now features free weights, a treadmill, a Peloton bike, a power tower, a mini fridge, and even a sauna—everything you’d need for a serious workout just steps from home.
